Yuvaraj Rajamanickam

Short Biography

I am an Education Research Scientist at the National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. With a strong background in machine learning algorithms, my research spans several interdisciplinary fields, including biomedical signal analysis and its applications in affective computing, brain-machine interfaces, and educational neuroscience. I am particularly focused on the application of machine learning techniques in analyzing neurophysiological signals, with a specific emphasis on understanding emotions, cognitive states, mental health, and well-being. My current research investigates how affective computing can be utilized in educational contexts, aiming to enhance learning experiences by leveraging physiological data such as brain waves, heart rate, and facial expressions. This cutting-edge research has the potential to revolutionize educational practices by offering personalized and adaptive learning strategies based on real-time physiological responses, contributing significantly to the fields of both education and neurotechnology.

I received my Ph.D. in Biomedical Electronic Engineering with a specialization in Biosignal processing from University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia, under the supervision of Dr. M. Murugappan. Before that, my B. Eng and M. Eng (Gold Medalist) from the College of Engineering (CEG), Guindy campus, and Anna University, respectively.
